As part of a class project, we were tasked with forming a team to respond to a past D&AD New Blood brief from the 2023 archive.

Our team selected the IMAX brief, which challenged participants to expand and reintroduce the IMAX brand to new audiences in bold, unexpected ways.

We approached this project as a three-person team: Cece served as the project manager, Harsh took on the role of narrative designer, and I led visual design and motion editing.

Together, we aimed to craft a campaign that visually reimagined the IMAX experience while aligning with its brand legacy.

Our team was tasked with developing a cohesive visual identity system and promotional motion assets

  • Visually differentiate and connect the four sub-brands under the IMAX umbrella.

  • Clearly communicate the expanded brand ecosystem.

  • Appeal to both long-time IMAX fans and new users unfamiliar with its offerings.

Logotypes Redesign

Designed four custom logotypes, each extending the original IMAX wordmark to incorporate the sub-brand’s name, maintaining consistency and recognizability.

Video Editing

Developed a fast-paced motion graphics video using minimal text, rhythmic editing, and animated typography to introduce the IMAX sub-brands in a compelling, digestible format.
